Thinking we could re-amp the tradition and get something like this organized again. There was no International Meet for 2007, or at least I havent found it in the old posts.

Is there any interest in getting this organized? Id be willing to help organize such a meet, and possibly host it (depending on number of attendees), if there is not a better place; thoughts?

You are correct there was no International Meet in 2007. There is a LX Rockin Spring meet that is going to be huge but after a few Chicagoland Meets we really dont get a whole lot of peeps there. I would love to help you in anyway to get a meet organized. I know when we invited 4 other forums we ended up having about 30 of them which was alot of fun.

3. Trophys or somthing.

Could be in Ohio, the "heart of it all" lol.... well its the "birthplace of aviation" now, but oh well. Id be willing to travel some, hell weve got Gorm driving 8 hours to come to our upcoming Ohio meet.

Doesnt necessarily have to be an International meet--could be the "national" meet, or whatever; this is just a suggestion for a larger than normal 2 day event for DI.net, other than Carlisle...

We are talking about a international, national meet. This meet needs to be in the center so that all may attend. If you would like to have a NY meet then you can create a new thread and see if you can get one going.

We have had plenty of non-US residents attend the international meets in the past.

In theory it should be like in Kansas City, where the 300m club had their international meet. That way some of the people from west / far out west could attended. Distance is number one complaint when it comes to Carlisle.

Maybe have ours with the 300M club? I always say more the better

I'm down for anything. April/May whenever. Not sure if your going or not but the LX Rockin Spring Meet is the 19th so maybe not that weekend.

Chicago isn't too far away... but still far. I'd only be able to go to a meet if it was in the St. Louis/St. Charles area here in Missouri. maybe even around Gateway International Raceway in Madison, ILL isn't too bad.

St. Charles is a very nice place. Mark Buehrle and Joe Crede(White Sox) live down there in the offseason I believe.

We need a volunteer~ someone who knows the Chicago area to help us out with meeting place arrangements, etc, so if you would like to help, post up!!

Just a thought....since the LX group is having there meet and intrepid owners are invited why not do it during that? It is during the time when the international meet used to take place so i don't see why not. I was thinking of going to the LX one myself and I know I won't be able to go to both.

I will be looking around. The spot where we have our meets is right by woodfield mall. It's right off of I290 right by I90 also.

I will keep my eye open for other places too.

Not really close by. The closest one is in Joliet(Chicagoland Speedway) There are two more but they are no where near Woodfield.

I am not going to drag in a Trep with 133k miles. I'll watch too.

Just thought that I'd mention that the meet is right off of I290 or 53.

I290 is a spur of I90. I90 is about 5 minutes from the meet.

The first and only time I have ever hit 100mph was from I59 to I290.

We have it set for Chicago it is closer for the few that want to attend right now. I see no interest in moving it because that would just make it farther for us. Until more people show interest then we will talk about moving it.

The only problem with moving it to those places is that there are less things to do in those smaller cities. Woodfield(where the met currently stands) mall is the worlds biggest(talking about stores) mall in the country.

Mall of America has more sq ft.

Lots and lots of places to eat around Chicago.

This should be a big meet! I still can't believe how many people were at the last Chicago meet in October. That is such a great location for a meet.

Can't wait to meet all you guys too. It's only about a 6 hour drive. Not too bad. Plus, I want to see Chicago....never been there.

It's pretty easy to get to from the meet. All you do is hop on I90 East towards chicago. I normally get off at Ohio Street.
