I was just wondering if it was a big deal to swap in a 02-04 3.5 shortblock using 01 RT parts.

You would have to swap out the plenum anyhoo.
IIRC, when you swap that out, it should eliminate any wiring harness issues.

Has anyone succesfully made a conversion from a 2000 3.5HO engine to a 2002 3.5HO engine? and in the instructions it says that the left cam sprocket has to be changed with the one off of the 2000 engine, now is this just a sprocket change? or does the cam have to be swapped also? Im in the process of doing this to an 2000 LHS i picked up in mint condition, and i have a 2002 300M engine with 32,000 miles on the clock so i want to use this engine in the LHS and have already switched the plenum, flywheel, O2 sensors, temp sensors all the vacuum lines and box, egr valve , alternator and harness, but it doesnt start up, I ran across your article and sounds like all I may need to do is change the sprocket, which doesnt seem to bad to do since i just pulled the engine out yesterday and i have it on a stand. My question is after i secure both cams with OTc tool 7999, remove the timing belt, remove the left sprocket and replace it with the 2000 sprocket, is there anything else that needs to be done?? please let me know, i plan on taking this on this weekend but dont want to tear into the engine if this hasnt been succesful, thanks for you help and comments

Just the sprocket has to be changed, not the cam. Put the 2000 sprocket on the 02 engine.

Camshaft sprocket should do it, as long as everything else listed above was swapped over.

Nothing else concerning the camshaft sprockets or timing belts has to be done. Make sure you did everything in list above. Make sure you have the 2000 flywheel on the 2002 engine (should have 3 sets of 6 holes in it IIRC....02 flywheel will have holes all the way around)...

You can order online, i found it on the otc webpage, I actually did not wait for the tools to arrive, i went ahead and did the cam swap without them, i just secured the cam sprockets with c-clamps and it worked fine, as long as you relieve the tensioner you shouldnt have any problems, just make sure that the sprockets/cams do not rotate.

If you have Auto Value parts stores in your area, they have the ability to get OTC tools. I have ordered several from them. No one stocks them, its usually a day or two wait at least.
If not, online is the best place.

3.2 to 3.5
I have not done anything yet but was planning to swap my 3.2 for a 3.5. These directions would be the same for my swap as for an older 3.5 to a newer one correct?

Yep, the same, but reversed.
If you wanted to use a 2004 3.5 in your 3.2 car, then all the parts listed would have to come off of your 3.2 and get installed on the 3.5.
