Running speaker wire to the front doors
I've got all my wires installed for my 4 channel install, all I have left is the wire from the amp to the speakers. I'm unsure how to run them through the doors speaker tube and in the door. Will i have to take the dash out?
this is a 1st gen by the way.
pictures and any tips/info will be great
thanks

I am just gonna say this, I was under the dash the other day fixing a load of wires that came loose, and I honestly think the entire dash has to come out, I know the knee bolster atleast has to come out, you may be able to wedge your fingers up high enough to push wires through though.

Sorry, but pulling the fuse box panel off and pulling out a lotta other stuff when i was fixing things, i noticed there is quite a lot of metal shielding and such in that area holding things together, so it's atleast the knee bolster, possibly the entire dash, its VERY time consuming, but not hard....

Just a thought. If you can find the old speaker wire under the dash, tape the new wire to the old wire in the door and then just pull it through. I've never tried it, but it makes sense.

That would be the best way, but the wires are usualy taped the entire length or at sections, so if there is taping in the acordian tube which I think there is, then it wouldn't work, other wise that would work perfectly fine. That is how I upgrade buildings from Cat 5 or 3 to Cat6 STP, makes life easy pulling it through one inch openings in studs...

I'm not very familiar with the wiring in a first gen, but I assume there is or was a factory radio and speakers in there to begin with? So, unless you have multi-million dollar speakers, run all your wires from the amp ( use loom ) to the back of your dash behind your radio and solder them into the existing harness.

His issue is getting the wires into the front doors through the rubber tube that protects wires, not easy to get into that....
