Curious, reverse light idea...
I have a set of foglights, both together would fit inside the reverse light housing just right with a few modifications. But here is my real concern, would the extreme heat destroy the lights, or the middle light bar? I was planning on molding a 100CFM 80mm fan into the housing, and using a set of relays for the lights and the fan, the fan SHOULD help keep the plastics cool, but I was planning on doing this mostly because I am putting some really, really, dark tint on my back window and would like to still be able to see at night when backing up, any ideas? Good? Bad? I will also be removing the Intrepid decal and putting my tagname in there, "C0RR0SIVE"
Along with this mod, I was planning on adding some green LEDS below the lights to light the entire thing up at night to display the decal a bit better.

It sounds awfully bulky.
Why not just get some of those extra-bright bulbs and be done with it? Kinda like what this guy used:

3157 Super White LED Back-up Bulbs, he called 'em.

my guess would be hell yeah they will melt Fog lights get really hot but as long as you dont have them on long they might be ok that how to mod might work better though. Is it possable to mount them under the rear bumper?

That's a good idea. If you're good enough, maybe even try mounting them in the bumper! Under should work too, though. Just keep an eye on your ground clearance, or they won't last long.

I have considered other methods such as molding a set into the rear bumper, but that to, will get hot and melt the plastics.... Hmm, I am going to check some other ideas, as having them in a space that will have a high flow fan would be my best bet, only reason I wanna do this is for the brightness, be quite a bit brighter than any LED setup, unless I make a bulb like I did a year ago, mounted 40 super bright LED lights to a board in groups of ten, they was actualy bright enough in that group to cause temporary blindness... All I could see was a huge green dot when looking with my left eye open... Wasn't fun, but was bright... I may do a 12x40 white LED board... Hmm... I will update in a few days on my decision, the LED setup and a custom PCB would be far, far easier.

Are you looking for light for you to see or for others to see? I taught about mounting some fog lights up under the car so you can't see them but they put out enough light when their on to see where your backing up or even to just flip them on wile your camping and have a little light...

Mostly for me to see when backing up, but I have also though of having them as extra light while im out with friends working on there cars, but I am going to go for the LED pcb idea, that way I won't need to run any relays or do major work on the housing.... Be just like replacing bulbs, unless I go to mount them under the bottom.
