Hi all, been gone a while but I'm back and looking for a 2gen LHS or Concorde LXi or Limited.
I recall this feel/noise happening with past LH cars, most of them were 1gen.
At very low speed or when shifting from R to D or starting out thereafter, there is a light sort of chunk or clunk or thump that I both feel and hear, coming from trannie section.
I always traded after a year or two so trannie trouble never developed too far in the earlier cars. Plus they were still under warranty.
This happened in a nice '99 LHS I test drove. I have to assume it's a characteristic of the LH.
Is it a quirk or does it indicate coming troubles?
Thanks.
BTW, r/t other trannie discussions I've searched. I had a 95 LHS whose trannied croaked. Dealer replaced with a factory rebuilt for around $2500, it came with (IIRC) a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty.
