I have a 1993 w3.5 when i hook up my trunk ckt. in a few days i will walk out to the car and the trunk will be open. I have done this several times. for now i have it disconnected. any ideas????

that is weird. how is the trunk released hooked up on that model? is it mechanically or electronically controlled?

it's electric and can be controlled from the glove box. or remote, but I don't have a remote for it.

hmmm weird. is it possible something inside the glove box could be running into the button. i know that sounds stupid i just like to think small before i think big! lol

Sounds like you have truck gremlins. You might have something pinching the electrical for the truck release line or something loose.

well thats funny, your 1st Gen trunk won't stay closed and most us 2nd Gen's can't get our trunk to OPEN

You can verify that theory (which is most likely) but unplugging your RKE unit.

If you pop up your IC panel, the black panel between the base of the windshield and the top of your dash with the speaker grills in them, on the passenger side between the passenger front speaker and the center speaker, you will see a small black box, a little bigger than a deck of cards. This is the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) unit. If you look at the unit, you will find some sort of label on it stating that it is an RKE unit. Un-plug this, and your Trunk Spookies will go away if it is what Dudley suggested.

I seem to remember that the RKE is the one closest to the corner speaker on the passenger side...

my 2000 has the same problem, no RKE installed. ive had it unplugged for a couple years now, only opens when i put it in gear or turn the lights on IIRC.
