no, not really... with the economy and all I went backto driving a truck across the 48-states... hopped at a chance to buy my own truck and trailer so I'm currently sitting in SC on my way to NY and have enjoyed every minute of owner/operator-ship (for the last 30days)...

next week I will be getting cellular-based internet in my truck, then I hope to be on the board more often and maybe even pickup some parts from others (now that I get everywhere)...

hope everything is going good for you and yours...

be on the lookout for more great things...

don't forget to check your gapper for wear... in my writeup I mention that my gapper was pretty far off and I overgapped (based on wear) to make up for the difference... even if you have a new one, they are cast metal and not very accurate in general... good luck, let me know if you have any questions...

well, I do appreciate the kind words...

this day and age of electronics, everything is designed to a certain spec... it's hard to get away from that... the coils, sensors, and even the PCM programming have all been tuned to a degree of harmony... I'd stick to the stock plugs for a stock engine... as I've said before, Chrysler did a heck of a job tuning the heck out of these things... unless you are making your own parts and upgrading stuff, I'd stick to the stock single platinum champions... it's the most cost effective in a stock motor...

be on the lookout for a complete engine buildup I'm planning for next year... my engine doesn't need it, but I'm going to build up a stroked, ported, polished & bored 2.7 (but it won't be that after all that) complete with custom PCM/TCM and hydrogen injection... I'm working on the designs for most of the year and just about ready... I'm building a new house with a 4-car garage and one bay will be my project area with lift and all... it will be quite the project to see unfold...

    hey Chris,

I'm not aware of any "chips" available for our cars. chips are more a GM or Ford thing... Chrysler has never fully released the inner workings of their computers...

with regard to the cats... you could remove them but you will have to have a custom pipe fabricated to replace them... that seems a bit too much work considering most states have some sort of visual emissions inspection and you can see the cats from under the hood. now a trick we used to do back in the day would be to pull the cat, and using a pipe to hollow out the center portion of the cat to reduce back pressure... then put it back in and it will look like you have stock cats, but the function is more like a hi-flow cat... that will give you a reduced back pressure and a bit more power considering the exhaust can escape faster... should be good for 5-10hp... good luck...
