I have a 98 dodge intrepid,2.7, I am going to try and replace the starter myself,BUT first, which sideis it on and where at? I have a book but it doesnt say which side and is it easy to take off?
Drivers side, above and to the left of the CV shaft, and below and slightly to the right of the catalytic converter.
Not the easiest starter to take off, has 3 mounting bolts that come thru the transmission bellhousing. It is easier if you take the starter mounting bolts out first before trying to disconnect the wiring from the starter. You may have to take the drivers side engine mount out too if you cant get enough clearance to get it out of the car. Make sure you disconnect the battery first. Good luck.
thanks, will try to change it in the morning?how long did it take you?I just hate going under there, even having support under it, I hate going under a car, lol.
