Hello my new friends. I am a new owner of a 97 Dodge Intrepid ES 3.5L. Some kind of red with serious paint issues, but love this car! 66K miles, just purchased this week. I hope to network at some point and get some tips from you experienced owners out there!

Best to you,

Tim.

Thanks!

I appreciate the warm welcome! The only issue I have with my Intrepid (besides some serious oxidation and scratches on the trunk) is some thumping I feel at my feet that I suspect is the transmission hitting when I accelerate and let off rapidly from a stop. I'm having my mechanic have a look at it before a trip we're taking to Cape Charles next week.

Here's a pic of her. I call her Heidi. :D

Not a bad looker. Being a 97 (1st generation) you have a non interference engine. No damage if timing belt breaks-just replace. BUT water pump is still internal and both should be replaced, the sooner the better.

I'd love to find a low mile 1st gen.

Welcome from Patriots training camp.
