I need to replace the infinity sail speakers 04760373AD and the infinity door speakers 04760374 on my 1999 Chrysler Concorde LXi. I've been told none of the after-market speakers will work with the current amp and that to either replace with identical speakers (from dealer or salvage yard) or replace the whole system. Any suggestions?
I have a suggestion. If you have $500 get an aftermarket system. If you don't, replace the speaker(s). If you want to go with aftermarket, just tell us what you want out of your system and we will help you from there. Welcome to the family :00000024:
No, there are ALWAYS aftermarket speakers that'll work, even if you have 2 ohm stock speakers. Though you'll have to bring your own amp if you want it to sound really good, but just speakers can give you a good improvement.
If the problem is that the foam rubber encircling the paper speaker cone is falling apart, you can remove the old foam and glue in new foam, so as to basically restore the speaker. Costs you around $15 to $25 to restore a pair.
Do a web search for terms like: speaker foam edge surround replacement kit.
Now that theres an almost 10 year old post you're gravedigging in lol
