I cant figure out this DAMN 1997 FACTORY AMP BYPASS NEED HELP
Im pretty sure I have one of the rare non infinity factory amps in my car, the one that has 4 speaker wires going into each rear speaker, I am trying to bybass it and cannot find anything on color codes or a how to, has anyone else had this problem before I dont want to cut wires til I have a pretty good idea what goes where. This is a 97 Sport 3.5. it did not say infinity anywhere on the cd player or amp. The amp was located on the driverside rear trunk panel behind the carpet. Anyways any help or guidance would be awesome. THANKS!!

I don't exactly kno the wire colors for theese, but I do know that any of them will work as positve or negative on either speaker, what I did was cut the harness and switched them around till i got the best sound.

One set of wires has the highs filtered and the other set has the lows filtered.

even if you bypass the amp, the wires will still be filtered using an aftermarket head unit

The rears are easy. Just run new speaker wire from the wires going to the amp to the rear shelf speakers. So just connect new wire to the rear left and rear right wires that come from the front of the car and go to the power amp. Unplug the wires that come out of the amp to go to the rear speakers and just leave them dead. The reason there are four per speaker is that there are two that power the cone in each 6X9, and then a separate two that power the tweeter in the 6X9. It's quite the crappy setup. Mine had that and that's what I did anyway.

NEED HELP 1997 Trep Sport w/ Oxford Speakers, need help bypassing AMP!!!
Ive posted this before but im not quite sure I was clear with what I have. I have a 1997 Intrepid sport that had a stock cassette player, I put in a pioneer head unit, kicker subs, mtx amps, but now I am having a problem finding information on how to bypass the stock amp i have, it is located in the trunk behind the carpet on the drivers side. It is Chrysler part number p04760398, nowhere does it say infinity, nor do my speaker, in fact they say oxford. My door speakers only had one set of speaker wire going to them, my 6x9's each have 4 wires going to them. Comparing to wire charts for the infinity system, mine is a bit different. I have 13 wires going into my amp, and 12 coming out of the amp and going to the speakers. I can trace 8 of the outgoing wires to my rear 6x9's but I am having a hard time figuring out the rest. I would really love any help I could recieve before tearing these wires up. Thanks in ADVANCE!!!!
