So I'm having some problems with rough idle, poor gas mileage, low power to accessories, and bucking and hard shifts. My steering wheel is also hard to turn. Sometimes it will be easy enough to turn with one finger on a hot day (but only for a few seconds) until it is hard once again.

So today I unplugged my map sensor, and pulled on the wire a bit to find where it went. Now all of a sudden everything is working better, and my car is running better. Does anyone know what that vacuum line is that connects to the map sensor? What does it do? I think the hose may have a hole in it, or its not securely on. My gauges light up brighter now, I have more horsepower, and my system hits harder.

It is still not 100% fixed, but what would cause this?

MAP sensor = manifold absolute pressure, basically this sensor tells the ECM what the absolute pressure of the intake manifold is ie vacuum while vehicle is running. The ECM takes this data and factors this and other values to adjust timing and air/fuel mix. If you have a vacuum leak this could be your problem. Fix the leaking line, if it is a bad and see if it improves. But, you could also have a bad wire somewhere according to your post.

So the vacuum line from my left throttle body leading to my mass airflow sensor was totally disconnected.... I reconnected it and now my car idles better, my sound system works better, and I have faster acceleration.

My cars almost perfect again but I think my evap canister is dead/dying.
The vacuum line going into the evap canister has very strong suction, but the vacuum line coming out of the canister, going into the body of the car, has almost no suction. Could the evap canister be blocking some airflow? The canister also clicks slowly all the time. Although there was this one time where it doubled its clicking speed..

If you have any knowledge of this i'd appreciate it
