Just to really piss off people...Win 7 has given me no problems whatsoever. If you really want a Windows 8 Look and Feel with the Metro UI, you can get that by looking up Rainmeter

Just a couple things about Win8:
#1, meh
#2, Did I have to choose Explorer 10 with this? Now I can't use the Chrysler site properly. They require IE 6, 7 or 8 for best results. IE10 is apparently not well supported.

i.e 10 ???
i didnt even know i was using it... the chrysler web site not only worked it looked beautiful....not sure whats the problem your having????
if you use the desktop and launch ie through that it works differently and might be better for your preferances...
what kind of pc are you using??? if your not using a 5-touch capable tablet then the METRO interface (new start screenwith the boxes) is going to be anoying, slow, in the way, ANd clunky. its all about touch and the touch interface.
like an ipad/android, and lesser degree blackberry touch.
ive got win8 running on a 1k$+ tablet with a solid state drive.... 16gb ram i3 cpu. bitchen.
also- its a beta/preview nothings perfect yet. i got my share of complaints.

I didn't pull the specs on the machine I put the beta on but, it's a relatively newer laptop with at least 4 gigs of ram and was running win7 64 bit OS before the beta 8.
The issue was after logging in and pulling up techconnect for any VIN, the systems at the left side of the screen won't open. Like if I want to check for recalls/tsb's on a vehicle. All the systems e.g. brakes, engine, etc. won't open.

win8 isnt anything without a touchscreen though.. id never use it on my desktop in its current form.
asfar as the panel. is it java?
i was having a hard time with java add-ons and flash-crap with the first preview of win8
there might be a compatibility button near the refresh/x on the right of the address bar, i use it every once in a blue moon for abnomalies..

Does the Chrysler site really require IE? I always use Firefox, even in Win8.. but if you must use IE, you do know that there's two different versions of IE10 in the Release Preview right? The "Metro" App (tile) version, and the standard desktop version. I think the "Metro app" version of IE10 might have issues with some sites idk.. I don't use it.

I've been running the RP on my desktop (dual boot, alongside Win7) with a 24" HD non- touch display.. standard keyboard and mouse setup.. and love it. I think the new start menu screen is super fast, fluid and very pretty on my display.
I boot into Win8 when my PC is in it's entertainment mode lol.. I've found that to further promote laziness, the "Mobile Mouse" app (available for iOS/Android) works extremely well with the Metro interface... allows me to lay back on the bed and control Windows 8 with my iPhone. --(so in a way, I do have touch! ;))

Yeah, I'd make sure you're using the desktop version of the browser and update Java as suggested above. Or try Firefox..

Sticking with Win 7. We'll see what ends up on the market for my MS subscription and I'll try again. Not holding my breath though. Especially as it looks like MS will be charging you for Add-ins that they previously included with their OS.

A few good points... I'll give them a try!
I have noted that the Chrysler site states they exclusively recommend IE7 or IE8. IE9 is not recommended so I suppose that rules out 10 as well, so far.
I don't use Firefox since I became so adept at Chrome, (Which is also quite buggy on the site.) I might give it another try and see how it works.
As for Win8, I don't mind most of it except for the multiple screens needed to shut down. Hopefully, I will figure out how do do it with less effort or they will add an option into the start screen.
I know just enough about the PC to be dangerous, (To Me), so keeping up has given me some bumps with this OS.

Yes, I want the Pro version with the Ivy bridge Core i5. Supposed to come out 3 months after the Windows RT version release.
Here's some good reads on the Microsoft Surface:

Check this out Ron, looks like MS has had a change of heart regarding your beloved WMC.

firefox fail FTW.
insecure browser.
i wouldnt tell me worst enemy to use firefox. mind aswell use AOL
thats a nice setup with the 24" but i still think the touchscreen experiance is what windows8 is all about.
metro is designed for touch. a mouse dowsnt give it the same feel. not even close.
