No luck on reviving the hard drive. Just checked and it's under warranty until Dec 2012....so off to Seagate it goes for a replacement.

Vision is starting to return to normal...I can read the letters on the keys now!
Shaping up to be a bad month for my PC parts. First a hard drive craps out but luckily under warranty. Got the RMA and shipping that back tomorrow.
Then for only the 2nd time in all the years I've been dealing with Newegg....need to return a motherboard. Got it a few days ago and found the VGA port doesn't have any output. Damn shame because I thought I'd found the perfect mobo for the Zalman HTPC to sell. Had all the ports needed onboard with 3 different video output types for the AMD FM1 APU. Need the VGA for the case Touchscreen and DVI/HDMI for whatever output the Buyer desires. Even had Firewire onboard which the case has on the front. 6x USB onboard to run the touchscreen and everything else in the case. USB3 on the back and a full size ATX form factor. Plenty of room for the add-in PCI Wireless-N card and Dual Channel TV Tuner card. No need for an add-in video card. Crap!
Will wait for the replacement.
