NGK Spark Plugs - yay or nay?
I've been reading threads in these forums and I've learned that Bosch brand plugs/sensors/etc and other brands make Intrepids "act funny." I know iridium plugs are some of the best and I put some on my '92 Civic and they made my car accelerate better got better mileage. I found some NGK plugs for my Intrepid. Would you guys recommend NGKs for Intrepids?

NGK plugs are arguably the best for the LHs. They're what came stock with the specials.

NGKs plugs as stated work great, along with Copper Champions which came stock in many other LH vehicles.

i just bought Champion Platinums for my 94 Eagle Vision 3.3L.....they were on sale and cheaper then the Champion Copper (not on sale)..hopefully there as good as NGK.

In my experience with Chrysler vehicles, stick with what came with it. That means Champions. Best runners.
If its an 02-04, and has NGK's, put them back in it. Thats what it was designed for.
Dont believe the hype on the bullshit spark plug ads. I cant tell you how many times I have put other brand plugs, such as +2's, +4's, etc etc into various vehicles and have had an issue with them. Throw what it calls for back in, guess what, runs like a champ. Its an LH car, not a racecar, stick with what it needs.

Just changed the plugs in my LHS (not that I was having problems, but I thought it couldn't hurt). Bought NGK Laser Platinums (7781). Anyways, to my surprise, when I pulled the plugs that were in there, out came Bosch Platinum +4's. Seems to have more pep with the NGKs and runs VERY smooth. I'm sure this has to do with how new they are. The NGKs cost me $5/plug on Amazon.com with $5 shipping versus $22 each in the store here.

The NGK Laser Platinum is known to be backwards compatible with the copper Champions in 2nd gen 3.2/3.5 applications. This was verified on a 2001 300M with Champions...it purrs with NGKs and gets excellent mileage.
The engines all have the same combustion chamber and ignition system so it's no surprise the NGK works in all of them.
Avoid spark plugs with unusual electrode designs...they cause flame shrouding in these and many other engines.
I should note that this engine is closer to a race car engine than you might think....and that most high performance cars built today use plugs similar to the NGK design. There's a good reason cars dont come with funky electrodes. Flame shrouding is bad for emissions and power.
