I bought a voltage stabilizer from ebay thinking it would do what it claims which is add HP, increase MPG, clearer stereo sound, brighter headlights, etc. I used it for over a year on my Honda Civic... No problems. Yesterday I took it off my Civic and put it on my Intrepid. As soon as I turned it on, the engine started shaking and the check engine came on. I went to the rear of the car and it was blowing out white smoke from the exhaust pipe. I turned the car off and threw the stabilizer in the trash. I connected an OBDII scanner tool and it gave a P0120 cod which is a "throttle position sensor circuit malfunction". I erased the code with the scanner tool and drove it today with no problem/no check engine light. It worried me for a bit especially when I saw white smoke coming out of the tail pipe. But luckily my motor suffered no damage. :-D DO NOT USE A VOLTAGE STABILIZER!!!
