Agreed! That's pretty much what I did after "losing" the inner spacer first time around.

To finish this off, I'm happy to report that, after doing both outer tie-rod ends ($12 ea. from Rock Auto, in my mailbox in 5 business days!) the car got the 4-wheel alignment done with no other issues found, except for both front tires worn excessively due to my not recognizing the symptoms of worn-out inners. The difference in the steering is very noticeable. This being my first LH, I didn't know what the steering should feel like, and messed up 2 new tires as a result. Lessons learned again, even at my advanced age!

Congrats! I did my inners and outers some time ago, but have been able to change the control arms yet, so no alignment done yet.
I should go do that last repair!

I need to do this badly, still have wear and tear from terrible roads at college.
Good thread to read in advance, plenty of tips in here.

Be sure to go through Kimura's how-to elsewhere in the site first - includes the procedure to access the inners as well as good pix. But turn the wheels full-lock to the right, not the left as he mentions. Enjoy!
