Stock radio question
Mine has the infinity system, 5 speakers up front, 4 in the back... My question is, Can I wire a Line-input from the stock 6x9s (Which appear to only be for "subs") and wire up a small amp and sub off that? The front speakers and the back small door speakers put off plenty of highs / mids.. I just want more bass. and installing a whole new amp, radio and sub / etc is way too expensive. I just wanna wire something off the existing speakers (Not powering the sub, but using it with a line input converter)

you can do that, but it definitely classifies as a hack and slash job.

I'm aware... But it's simple and I was told it could work and sound pretty good.

There are PAC kits that are Plug-N-Play to add a LOC to the stock wiring harness for adding amps. Gives you two pairs of RCA outs with adjustable level controls. The 2002-2004 versions are still readily available. Not sure on the 1998-2001 versions. I'm using one in my 2000 R/T with the wiring conversion adapter for 1999-2001 to 2002-2004 connectors. Running aftermarket amps in the back for all speakers and Sub with the PAC setup.

This is the kit I'm talking about....no cutting/splicing wires for 2002-2004 vehicles. Plugs right into the existing radio harness. To make it work in 1998-2001 cars you'd need a wiring adapter to convert the older wiring to the newer wiring. Those are available on Ebay.

Compatibility Notes
Not compatible in vehicles that re equipped with a premium amplified system
And mine has the stock amplifier.. I'm pretty sure it does atleast. It's in the trunk on the passenger side.

That's BS. Works in my 2002 300m Special with the 360watt amp in the trunk.
The AOEM CHR1 that works in 1998-2001 cars is tougher to find. But here's a new one available on Ebay. This will work in your 2000. You wouldn't need an additional wiring adapter. Plugs in between the radio and the factory wiring harness. No cutting of wires. You then have two pairs of RCA outputs to connect to any aftermarket amp(s).

Thanks. Now, This just adds RCAs right and doesn't make it to where I have to re-wire the speakers? All I wanna do is add a sub and that's it.

The correct model number to look for is: PAC AOEM-CHR
It'll look like this:
