Frankintrep to do list
So I traded cars with my daughter for a bit, she's further from home so I gave her my Vision so I could do some work on her car. Chances are she will buy a new car in the next couple months but that's ok.
So since I have the Frankentrep back I did an inventory of the work it needs.
The drivers side rocker has had a whole at the back tire for a while, it looks worse now. I'm going to do a quick sheet metal patch and bondo job on it and rattle can spray it. There are a few other spots that need a spray bomb touch up as well. Im just looking to for a decent 10 footer repair.
The Passenger side strut bushing is failing and its only 5 months old, it's a Raybestos professional grade so Rock auto warantees it for 2 years. I just have to pay return shipping for the old part but can use their shipping number for reduced shipping charges.
The headliner is coming down all over, it was pretty dirty anyway. I found a couple videos on YouTube and it actually looks pretty easy to replace. I have done a couple of the old bow type headliners and these look like half the work. I need to find someplace to get the material.
Drivers side seat is wearing and so is the steering wheel. I'm thinking covers will do.
The rear brake lines look like they are rusting badly, this will be the first project, I'll run new line from the firewall back.
When it's done I think ill end up swapping it with my other daughter who has the Concorde, it runs really well but it is a bucket of rust. Maybe I'll see if I can fix it up or find another body in need of a drivetrain, then I'll have a frankencord or bride of Frankintrep!

Joanne Fabrics has headliner material, $15 a yard. You will need at least 3 yards I guess. They have the spray adhesive as well. The fabric they sell has a thicker foam backing. Not sure if that is a good thing though. I was going to get 4 yards and I figured with everything it would be $90. Too much, I put it all back and walked out.

How did 3 yards get you to 90? Is adhesive that much? The headliner is really shabby, 90 may be a worthwhile investment.

You might look at just doing a junk yard headliner. If I was closer to you, I've got a really clean Trep headliner with NO cut-outs for overhead console - just dome lights - available you could just have.
