I live in northeast Iowa. I own a 1994 Dodge Intrepid ES, blue. The car is in fine shape but I've neglected its care (I've owned it 15 years). I've come down with the renovate and refurbish bug. DIY projects for the most part.
Earlier today ordered the Haynes manual for the 1993-97 Intrepid ($4 used). Projects first up for me are: Headliner replacement, aluminum rims rehab, gray bumper/rocker panel repair and repaint.
Hoping to receive advice and information from fellows here as I move along with my projects. Could be I'll get some nifty ideas about enhancements here, too.
Hi Brian! I'm originally from Cedar Rapids! There are a few other Iowa members on the board, including NHogan from Independence. We just had a mini-meet in CR, next time I'm back home I'll have to visit you.
Don't mess with the Haynes manual - although better than Chiltons, nothing beats the Factory Service Manual that might be found on the board here.
How do you want to re-hab your rims? Which ones do you have?
Have you ever done a headliner change?
WELCOME TO THE FORUM! Yes, there's lots of ideas here. My car is also a 1994 ES, btw.
CDMCCUL - I lived in Cedar Rapids for 25 years, no doubt we were neighbors. <g> I would enjoy meeting you. Nearby members? Very neat.
Haynes manual. . . . Oops. Well, just $9.99 spent.
The DIY projects I have not performed previously. I've been viewing and saving information from the net, including some interesting YouTube how-to videos. Got a quote for $225 for headliner replacement. At Jo-Ann Fabrics, two yards of headliner material is $30. So. . . .
I have the ES rims, cast/machined aluminum(?) Five spiraling spokes with indents in their middles. (Got terminology to learn, I guess.) Just picked up a used rim today, I'm ready to give restoration a try.
Gorgeous looking ES, btw.
BEEBLEBROX82, MRBIGE, CRYPT KEEPER, MICHOLOB, thanks for the welcome, guys. You, too, 98INTREPIDTAN. But, uh, well, ah . . . I don't understand your message. Confusing me with someone else, maybe? Or, am I being dense? > Welcome Brian! I love your struts. Hmmm, perhaps it was your cousin Colin that created them?!? <
