When I sent mine in for reprogramming, I faxed a waiver form for a raised/removed speed limiter. All I can tell you is before I sent it in, it topped out around 118 mph. Since then I have gotten it up to 147 mph without any governor kicking in. Even if it was just raised, it is effectively removed in all practical purposes. I don't see neeeding to go any faster than 150 mph. Even then, 150 mph is a bit ridiculous. The only real reason you would need that much speed is if you are trying to out-run the law or are running the salt flats. :vampv: I don't anticipate doing either.

Then you don't have the PHP version??? I thought you did.
That's a new procedure for them, then. Obviously I've had no direct dealings with them since they don't do 2Gb PCMs :icon_sad: but I've heard others complain about it ...

Still down with a bad fuel pump and half the front end out of it. I need a pair of lower arms for the front end - the ones I have are from a Satellite, no mounts for the sway bar. :(
The guys before me had it fitted out for a drag car. The Satellite arms are ~5 lbs. lighter for the pair and, of course, you don't want a front sway bar at the strip anyway. The were some other things here and there I've had to deal with but not too bad. It didn't have the hood signal wires, no radio, trunk liner gone, hood set up ~1" at the rear, A/C removed, etc. All great mods for a drag car but not exactly what I'm looking for ...

Where do you send your pcm off to to get this done? How much are we talking in cost?
I can tell you for a fact that my Crown Victoria interceptor will not catch a police package intrepid on take off or flat out run. Some kids stole one in the next county and the dman thing was just plain fast. I did not realize they could be that fast, I knew they had potential, just not that much. I have a 2000 RT and I jsut didn't realize it.

ok, ive got a question for everyone. I own a 1994 3.3L intrepid, a first gen obviously. It is a canadian car so on my speedometer at the end of the speedo is 240km/h, I know for a fact, tested it myself on track, that I can't get to 240km/h I only get to 190-195km/h depends when it kicks back. The thing is, I didn't think anything before 1995 had a governor on it and when I hit 190-195km/h it kicks back, but I dont redline when im going that fast..any idea?

Plus it is very dangerous...I'm just curious why this is such an important thing to do...Get your intrepid to have a higher top speed...sorry for the rant, i just dont see why!

Sometime I read than my Intrepid RT 2001 has a top speed around 238 km/h, more than 140 miles by hour. Sometimes I was running to that speed and the car stay safety. Now my motor was broken with 140,000 km, less than 90,000 miles.
