trouble with ATC. Ideas?
well my ATC has been acting up for a while and i read a thread that mentions changing the the ignition switch. well i did that and its still acting up. i was reading in a computer magazine on how some people "bake" their video cards in oven /toaster oven. wondered if i took out circuit board from the ATC and baked it at low temp ( 130-150) if this might reform the solder joints? has any one done this? BTW i have replaced the orginal one with the same model out of a different car. { i do know which end of a soldering iron to use  }

temp needed to melt solder is closer to 400f, so probably not a good idea.

Did the new unit act the same way as the old unit?

i would say yes to that so started to wonder if solder joints had started crystallizing after 20 yrs.( car was built in oct 92 ) may just take apart the orginal one to look for signs of bad connections will update in near future

Apparently you can see the bad solder joints. I would start there. Take the unit apart and look inside.
