Hey all, been doing a bunch of research on different LED's I can use when I swap over most of my external lighting to LED. As usual I'm scared to spend all this money on the swap before I pick this forum's brain on the matter first haha.

Right now I'm looking to pick up:
4x red 3157 for my tails/brakes
2x red 194 for my tails
2x A/O 3157switchbacks (type 2) for front turns

But I have a few questions for you guys who have done this swap...

I'm looking to get as close to pure white as I can for my switchbacks without any hints of blue but also not yellowish like stock halogens, so around a 4500-5k color. From what I've seen the switchbacks from autolumination.com appear to be around 6k in color (little bit of blue). Have any of you purchased switchbacks from them that can confirm this?
So then my second option for switchbacks would be from V-LEDS who give you the option of 5k and appears to be a pure white. Has anyone purchased from VLEDS and can confirm this? If so, which bulb in particular?

For the red LED's I'm assuming I should go with autolumination's because VLED only offers a maximum 20led 3157 red bulb, while autolumination's go up to 60 and 120 tower bulbs.
I'm trying to decide between:
Autolumination's 120 bulb tower (red) @ 29.99 each
Autolumination's 60 bulb tower (red) @ 27.99 each

Has anyone used these before? Is the intensity/brightness between the 60 and 120 very noticeable?
Im scared the 120 may be a little overkill and you won't be able to tell much difference between the running and brake intensities.

Do you have halogen bulbs in your headlights?

If you do and are planing to switch to hids at some point then get 5000k switchbacks which is the closest to natural light then when your ready to get a 5000k hid kit everything will match up.

Honestly when it comes to led lights all manufactures of them have issues its just the nature of the beast so where you get them from is always a crap shoot.

I'm actually considering splurging and going with V-LEDs new V3 Triton Bulb for switchbacks.

It's $100 a pair (only preorder, will go up to $140 after first orders are shipped at end of month) but it comes with a lifetime warranty and it's universal so I could transfer it over to a different car if I want to in the future.

600 lumens white and 430 lumens amber which is pretty impressive.

Only problem is they don't offer a 5k version! only 6k. I think I might just go with a 6k setup because a lifetime warranty when it comes to LEDs is very valuable I think.

I think a lot of people are color blind. I've bought "5000k" (supposed to be a pure white) LEDs and they had a hint of blue (looked more like 6000k). You kinda have to take your chances, honestly, and buy until you get the right color. A lot of the color temperatures are wrong. You can't go by what the description says. I've tried red 68 SMD LED bulbs on my car and currently have red 96 SMD LED bulbs. Honestly, not much of a difference but I wanted to get bulbs with the most LEDs. With the 96 led bulbs I can barely tell the running light/brake light difference in intensity. But I don't mind it because the bulbs are bright!

You'll probably need to get an LED flasher unit as well (mine didn't even work so I had to cut the centre pin off of it so it would stop blowing fuses).

I have the 6000K's in mine they told me they were the brightest and they are like a hyper white the 5000K's do have a light blue tint to them witch is natural white! As for LED's im looking in to them my self I can find them cheep on eBay but I don't currently know anything about the quality!

Yes you will need an LED flasher with them!

EP-27 from advance auto parts cost me $15 and fixed all my hyper flashing problems!

You can see my 5K switchback leds from v-leds in my sig pic next to my 5K HIDs from DDM Tuning. The color is very white on the switchbacks.

yup I got 5k HID's and 5k v3 triton switchbacks in the mail, woo 600 lumens!. Should be super bright. And EP-27 is already installed from my tail light mod so I'm good to go.
