I finally put the headlights back together. Here is a picture, of only one unaimed 55w headlight, after removing the finder. I can't find the before, but you should be able to compare the "after" to your setup. There is now a definate cutoff. Aiming really sucks. Both aiming screws work together, so if you find the light is not moving up/down, and you're messing with the screw, try a little twist of the left/right screw.

I, presonally, think it looks a lot better and will probably not be blinding oncoming traffic. Before, I had to have the lights aimed, at the ground, directly in front of the car to prevent blinding. Just remember, when aiming, that the driver side aims to the right more, than being symetrical with the passenger. I am going to finish the aiming, tonight, and hopefully park it on the road and take another picture. If you choose to remove the finder, remember to put the screw back or cover/fill in the screw hole or you'll have a funny shine. I'll post a picture, tonight, showing what I mean.

That's great what I did with my halos is had them at a normal heighth and put my brights above them to get rid of that cut off and increase seeing! Looks awesome.

Put the other headlight in and tried to align them the best I could, since I don't have a level work area, but they could probably go up a little. The road is curvy, hence why the lighting looks different from the two pictures. Sorry about the dirty windshield.

Has anyone flashed you at all? I have 35W 5K in my stock reflectors and experimented with aiming. where I have them now I haven't been flashed since the last adjustment in over 6 months. My light output is great, but I do have the hotspots that are noticeable.

When I first put the lights in, I was being flashed. I adjusted them, basically pointing 3 or 4 feet in front of the car, but there was enough reflected, upward light to see in urban areas and I wasn't being flashed. In my area, though, it was hard to see. Tomorrow I plan to adjust upward and then driveby, in the other car, and see if there is blindness. I'll try to take some pictures, from that POV and the new adjustments.

Good idea - hadn't thought about adjusting them, parking on a long road (or parking lot), and driving past myself for adjustment. Pictures would be interesting to see.

That cut off looks pretty good, a big improvement over what I've seen before.

You still get a bit of a messy light pattern below it (really bright how spot in the middle), but considering how much cheaper the halogen projectors are over a true HID projector setup that is a great result.

Actual HID projectors are largely graded on how evenly they can distribute light, and even between them there are big differences at times.

If you look at the top picture, are you talking about the bright spot right next to the yellow lines? If so, I think I know what is causing it. On the driver's light, I forgot to put the finder screw back in and didn't realize it until after putting the light together, turning the light on and seeing a circle of light. I ended up putting the screw in, going through the area where the light is, so the screw's end, instead the head, is in the projector.

The passenger side doesn't do it. I'll take a picture of each light, seperately, and you'll see.

Like Acura TL's projectors are huge, in size, but also offer a huge beam compared to Lexus ones.

Yes that spot is obviously the worst one. Other than that the light dispersion isn't bad at all.

I have to pull apart the driver one again. It seems the projector came off the pivot point (not sure what you would call it) and the projector isn't exactly stable. It kind of flops around, so adjusting it is pointless. I'm going to remove the screw and fill the hole with something and see if the hot spot is gone.

Here's an updated picture. It's unaimed, without the lense and the picture is taken at an angle. Tomorrow I'm going to take the passenger light apart, reclean it and then go out on the road for that progress.
