Gentleman, Start your Engines. Bristol is on.
I like the way Ken Schrader would apologize to everyone BEFORE this race started.

The decision to hire them was brought about by a recent documentary on how unemployed youths from Harlem were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without proper equipment, whereas Gordon's existing crew could only do it in 8 seconds with thousands of dollars’ worth of high tech equipment.
It was thought to be an excellent and bold move by Gordon's management team, as many races are won or lost in the pits.
However, Gordon got more than he bargained for.
At the crew's first practice session, not only was the inexperienced crew able to change all 4 wheels in under 6 seconds, but within 25 seconds they had changed the paint scheme, altered the VIN number, and sold the car to Dale Earnhardt Jr. for 10 cases of Bud, a bag of weed, and some photos of Jeff Gordon's wife in the nude.

It used to be that IndyCar was a sport that money ruled and brought about inovated change to the sport. Money buys victory. Nascar in those days was the good ole Boys where the small team could win. Maufacturers sold engins but it was a build it yourself endeavor.
Mercedes, Offenhauser, Ford and Chevy all assaulted the Brickyard with endless budgets until victory was achieved. Nascar revelled in the difference in racing. They touted themself as the good ole Boys.
The times have changed. Indycar is now a 1 engine, 1 body race, and boring. Nascar is ruled by the corperate dollar. He who spends most wins. Sort of like the Yankees of old.
With America's economic downswing and major sponsors being harder and harder to find, the future for NASCAR is not as bright as it once was. Toyota is just adding to this financial pressure, so much so, that former Winston cup champion owners, Moirgan McClure Motorsports, who used to field the most feared cars in the sport have had to close their doors.
This is just one of many names.
Other teams are seeking mergers to keep their heads above water. Rousch and Robert Yates Racing have joined forces in the motor department and GINN Racing basically folded and molded into Dale Earnhardt Incorporated, but it was called a merger at the time.
In the end, Toyota's spending will do nothing but hurt the sport that has become America's real pastime. I find it largly boring to watch at present. Put all the teams on an even budget and lets watch em race.
Due to increased spending the Camrey has extracted 8 to 12 horsepower more than Ford, Chevy or Dodge. It does not take much imagination to forcast the end of a race when there is a car with more horsepower than the others. It just becomes which driver in a Camrey will win.
I quit watching Indy Car when it became boring.

You said it best about "when it became boring, I quit watching". That's how I feel about it. Yes, most Chevy teams get their motors and bodies from Hendrick's. The two Ford power houses have joined together and heck, even Gibb's racing now buys motors from Toyoda TRD Group.
Long gone are the days of a group of people building a car, bringing it to the track, passing the inspection and making a statement or a run for the win.
We all know money wins races but NASCAR has pushed out the smaller players. The drivers have to behave or get fined, so they drive around until 15 laps to go and then put on a show.
These 1.5 mile D tracks are mostly follow the leader, Kansas sure was.
Bring back the days were the tires fell off after 20 laps and let the drivers show their talent for the next 20 laps. The double file restarts have helped keep interest as I do like the new points system.
Enough of this rant, my interest is slowly dying.

But Daytona is tonight! Last night race was OK, big wrecks took out some favorites. Kurt Bushwacker somehow won.

This penn state business needs it own channel. You can't watch espn for 5 minutes or open the sport section of a paper without seeing more crap come out. Media loves scandals.
Don't get me wrong it's bad what happened and I'm not defending it. I'm just sick of hearing about it

The Philly, Jets, & Pittsburgh game should be interesting tomorrow. The Martinsville race could be winded out.
Who knows.

It's lonely being a Seahawks fan in the the middle of Va. Beach. Let's see how far we can go in the playoffs.
