I am going to email this tonight to the machine shop and have the wood prototype made up this week. Hopefully mailed out before the weekend. If I need to adjust the depth I can when I made the final version in aluminum.

Not really ovals but more like a double opposed radius.

Not really sure what you mean by ovals but those hold the spacer to the LIM I believe?

I was given 7 bolts with the spacer and those go to the ones sticking up in the picture. If you didn't mind giving me the dimensions to the smaller holes and there location in regards to the groove that would be great. I have a sketch of the v2 spacer and based measurements off the actual spacer and the drawling. What I mocked up looks correct and measures out correct. It would be nice to confirm and double check though. Especially when I get the prototype and nothing lines up lol.

I'll try to see how it looks in relation to the intake. This is what I was calling "oval" originally. I noted in your design you had them shown as round. Maybe round works OK.

Depth on the channel:

.225" - .230"

Taken at about six spots around the plenum.

I see what you're saying about the oval. I'm basing my design off of the previous V2 spacer which used circles all around and was installed on 30 cars and worked so I assume it works? Not sure if its worth changing but if necessary its an easy adjustment.

That oval on the plenum lines up with the circular pegs on the LIM. They are just shaped like that to give some flexibility front to back when installing. You should match the spacer to the circles of the LIM, not the plenum, so that the spacer slides right onto the pegs.

Any opinions on the type of aluminum to use?

This is what I got back from Andy at the machine shop in regards to the type of aluminum to use:

In terms of the aluminum grade, generally the alloy 6061 works for most applications unless you were to require the special properties of a different grade. 6061 is almost always the cheapest since it's so popular. it's generally about 75% the cost of other alloys (do note the prices I gave you earlier were with 6061 grade). 5000 grades are easier to form and weld.
2000 grades are more flexible which makes them appear to have higher strength compared to 6061. (under pressure the metal flexes instead of cracking).
7000 grades also have high strength but it's for the opposite reason, it cracks when bent however requires more force to bend due to the stiffness (less flexible).

You will want the 6061. For this purpose you just want the cheapest of those grades. Structurally the aluminum hardly has to do anything at all for the spacer, so unless you plan on using it as a weapon before installation all those other properties are well within what's needed.

6061 it is. Prototype is being made of 1/8" piece of metal for accurate measurements. Should arrive sometime this week! Lets hope all lines up!
