right now i seem to have got to running but i have MS update turned off IE to just notify me if i have updates. i have to do 4-5 restores from earlier restore points. only other thing that is new to the system was the Zotac GEforce GT 620 Video card. I'm not sure if this was caused by updates needed for MS Office i had just loaded few days for doing home work for class. (never used it before) not sure if there was an issue with the series of updates compatibility wise or not.
has any one else had or having this problem? do want to be able to have MS updates turned back on but kinda leery right now to do it

did the ctr-alt-delete to see what was running no go. that stayed black even after rebooting and doing logging in. when entered in safe mode looked in restore showed critical update that had been done. restored to couple days back. seems to be working OK. has any one had this problem recently from possible last critical update from Microsoft?
(had to get up & running do school work on it)
