Concorde got hit ...so they totaled it .....
My wife got in a car accident, not at fault, so .....now they totaled it they said 2087$.
We're moving to a house so no money to spare , and for 2-3k there is only junk I can buy who might need more repairs then our beloved concorde that had 189k but run perfect.
Here are some pics .......
2 quick questions?
They declared it totaled, if I buy it back, if i try to fix it myself and get it in drivable conditions ( I will make it pretty again later) is that legal or do I have to pay some extra stuff to get the title cleared because of the accident?
How bad does it look, from my visits to the junkyard 1k (which should be more than left over after buyback) should cover for headlight, bumper, hood, fender, new radiator and belts and front reinforcement bar ...can I bend everything else back in .... right now I do not care anymore if it won't look pretty .... pretty cars are over 4k so ........????
Pls Help

That's a shame!
What state are you in? I know that in VA (where I am), there is no salvage title for vehicles either 7 or 8 years old (I forget which). You buy it back, make it roadable, and it keeps the same title. I know - I've done it twice.

The battery box took a pretty good hit. What's the frame rail that it's attached to look like? Specifically from above. Bet it' not straight!

If it were me in your money situation, I'd find a solid body dead 2.7L intrepid or concorde for 5-800 bucks and swap your good running 3.2 in there. Even for a "good running" engine, thats alot of miles though! By the time you buy it back and buy the donor car you should still be under your 2K you got back for it. Might be your best option if you trust that motor.

i'm gonna let it go ...painfully but .......
We are moving to the house next week and meanwhile I need a car and with the move will not have time/money to spend on it so I will just buy a cheapo used to hopefully last me untill i can get a nicer ride.
We went by the house we are buying, where I towed it, to take the stuff out , and the towing guys must have messed up alignment alot, since the steering wheel was turned upside down (with wheels straight the cruise controls and all were upside down) so ....... plus the whole frame where the bumper reinforcement, headlight, and battery sit looked really bent so ......
we will miss it dearly ... it was an awesome ride .... and for the 6000$ auction price that lasted for 150+ k miles in the family .... 11 years with only 2 water pump jobs, an ac reconditioning and some other stuff (maybe 3-4k repairs) ... considering the 2 rear incidents that made us some extra 1000$ .... it will be very very missed .... it has been by far my most favorite ride so far ... even I hated how big it was in the beginning....
sorry about the rants I'm venting
