I'm just beginning to put serious rehab work into my 1994 ES. My first step are the rims. Sears gouged the heck out of one of the rims, yesterday I picked up a used replacement rim. My plan is to rehab it and, one by one, go around the car and rehab 'em all.
I have not done anything like this before, but I'm going to do my best. I've saved links to some helpful You Tube vids showing how to refinish rims. I guess my first step is removing the clear coating? The one instruction so far about how to do this is to use paint thinner. Is this the best way?
Another shop suggested using Tal Strip.
Thanks much.
BTW, how do I remove the brass/rubber air valve, in case it's not obvious?
