Got her back today. Drives real nice! $470 for Mopar solenoid, atf, filter, and install.

I had two shops tell me they couldn't install the 3.89 gears with the trans still in the car which i thought was weird.

Nice fix, yes you can install them with the tranny still in the car. It took me about 4 hours the first time around taking my time. It's just a pain in the @ss since you're on your back and there a constant but small drip of ATF coming out of the thing all the time.

That's what I thought, and i know there's quite a few threads here on it. I just don't want to do it myself. Maybe I'll just throw that dream out. I did notice the car seems to pick up faster. I floored it today coming out of a turn and it just flew. We shall see how that holds up.

By any chance did your garage confirm whether or not your defective solenoid was within the date code range whereby the related service bulletin advises changing out the solenoid pack vs the valve body? I ask simply to learn whether solenoid packs that are supposedly "good" (per the date code and service bulletin) can also cause the P1776 and P871 DTCs.

My 2002 was doing the same thing. Hasn't done it in a while but at 55 mph the trans will act like its slipping. I had the same codes. My question is can i take the trans out of my 2000 and use it in the 02? Same 2.7 motor, just one is newer than the other. I know the history on the 2000 and was well maintained. And the 2002 has been beat on pretty hard.
