i have a 00 2.7 intrepid. two problems. leaking antifreeze and leaking gas.

1) gas leak.... rusted a hole right where steel line connects to flex line by tank. is it possible to cut lines and put rubber hose in its place?

2) antifreeze leak....... not leaking from weep hole. its dripping from smaller hose next to lower radiator hose coming from thermostat housing... any ideas?

The leak at the thermostat housing is likely the weep hole (that is where the weep hole exits the engine) - unless you can be totally sure... Inspect the weep hole to make sure what you see isn't weeping from there and dripping down from the small hose.

If it is the small hose, it will likely need replacement unless you can see the clamp is loose, etc. I had trouble with a 1st gen small hose at the lower radiator hose connection at the side of the block - the clamp had crawled up onto the bulge in the fitting and was no longer sealing.

As for the gas leak - no, you can't really patch it for very long with rubber hose. Have you ever worked with a flare tubing kit? There may be some valid argument for not using brake line tubing for fuel, but I have patched fuel line with brake tubing and some flare kits many times.

well. the weep hole isnt wet. the little hose is 2" above the weep hole. and was dripping off hose still after the car sitting after 2 days of no t beining started. and the gas line. where can i find the end of the steel gas line fittting that locks into the flex line comming from ? its rusted in the plastic fitting.....

I'm not familiar with the second Gen fuel system enough to help you there...

Have you had the fuel line disconnected to see the hole? The o-rings could have shrank or cracked and started a leak. If the steel has a hole in it, you may be better off trying to yank the whole line from a junked intrepid.

I've never liked the idea of clamping rubber hose on a smooth high pressure line. Its okay temporary to get you home or something. If you do, I'd keep checking it often to make sure its still tight. I'm not sure how much luck you'd have trying to flare the line if its rusting. I'd also use closed clamps like these which are meant for FI.
