The fuel supply hose between engine and firewall is known for cracking and leaking. Why they haven't had a recall on it, I don't know.

I have a similar problem. But in my case only sometimes i smell gas from under the hood... i think i have a leaking injector... i have to cycle the keys 3times soo the engine can start right away... if not it will take like 20-30 seconds to start

my car has no problem starting and haven't seen any drips, and the smell stays when running or while off.

Maybe it is more of a fume leak, since you are seeing no liquid. Just an idea.

yea it's a real strong odor though, will give u a headache if u stand next to it long enough while parked, it's weird. so i'm thinkin it has to be leaking somewhere just not making it to the ground, doesn't appear to be affecting mileage either though.

I'm having the same issue.
So would it be the quick connect fuel line or the vapor line? And are they hard lines or just rubber? Is there a splice inbetween or does the entire line have to be replaced?
Please tell me this can be fixed without taking off the upper intake...

You might just have to replace the piece between the connections; behind the intake and at gas tank. I had to replace the piece that attaches to #10 (cruise hose) and had to remove the cowl just to make things easier. The piece, its self, is metal but not sure about the ends.

Well I took it in today and had it thrown up on a rack. Traced the lines and could see them from the bottom...not 100% sure I can get the fuel line from the top passenger side w/o taking the intake off. Maybe. Not sure. So far I've determined that driving 6 miles in 100 deg. heat makes the engine compartment unbearable to work on.
It looks like the vapor line is all metal with a rubber splice at the top. Any rubber lines are getting replaced..tired of fiddlefarting with this car this last week
