Where could i find a lower temperature thermostat?
my intrepid seems to run a bit hot mostly when i got up a long hill then as i go downhill the temp needle comes back down a bit later when i get home and turn it off about one minute or so after i can hear sounds of water moving from like the heater core and into recovery bottle, sounds like boiling but plastic and cap aren't extremely hot to touch.

Not sure where to get a lower temp. thermostat.

You didn't ask for advice, but...

Better to fix the root cause. A lower temp. stat isn't a good solution for overheating or whatever else may be going on.

Are you loosing coolant?

Are the engine cooling fans working?

Cap not sealing?

I'll add a pressure test to the list. Many auto parts places will lend out a coolant system pressure tester. These often can test the cap.

Ah...the old "Shotgun" method of troubleshooting! Usually the most expensive!

I suggest some diagnostics before you go to that trouble. There may be a simple issue with a simpler solution. Test first, then act.
