Alright I know about the valve to drain it, but that is not working for me. I can get it turned, but this time around no coolant is coming out at all.

So that means I need to take off the lower radiator hose to drain the coolant, but I have no idea how to do that. I'm not even sure exactly where it is. Damn cramped engine bay.

I pulled my plug right out. either 1/4 or 1/2 turn then pull firmly. Some people don't do this because of fear of damaging the o-ring. Mine went in and out no issues, no leaks

The lower rad hose is on the drivers side. runs under the PS pump

I've done it before, but this time it was really stuck shut. I could only get it turned 90 degrees, at which point it wasn't draining at all. I finally got it though just now.

I looked up in the FSM where the lower rad hose is, but I really didn't want to have to take that off.

It's a royal PIA. Those factory clamps are a beotch. I had to have my GF (small hands) get in there and get my hose off for me!

Anyways, if it is stuck the O-Ring could easily be pinched and would become damaged if forced. Just go under the car, I don't know why people complain so much about "tight spaces" they are far worse in most newer cars, and pull the bottom hose off, just, keep your nose closed, mouth closed, and wear water tight goggles.

I agree, a PITA. We put new hoses on during the swap and then had to flush. It finally came out but to do it right we took the bottom clamp off. Ali helped me put the clamp back on. Worst set up I have ever seen.

In an older thread, I'll have to go find it again, someone linked that replacing the draincock is 3 dollars and change at one of the auto parts stores. If you break it, just replace it.

I am glad to see that you replaced the DexCool™ MSDS info. with the G-05, Dudster. Somebody might have taken that to mean that we should be using DexCool/Prestone Extended Life™ crap. I was coming back to this thread to warn people about that.
