I decided to create a new sig page for my SE.

2002 Inferno Red Dodge Intrepid SE


I bought the car for $800.00. It had a blown 2.7L but lasted 167,597 miles before its demise. The only issues with the body was a broken spoiler mount and the passenger side rear door was hit by a on coming Jeep.

I'm thinking to buy a set as well after I get a ES bumper or at lest some kind of fog lights installed.

Today I was planning to repaint the trim around the windows but decided to see what some rubbing compound would do and it's pretty much brought it back to life.

Devan (EagleESI) came by today and we installed the rear O2 sensors and also installed the hood.

We took it on a test drive around the block a few times and while doing so Devan took some glamor shots.

looking mean an killer, I cant wait till january to see what I can start to do to my baby 'trep, need to strip down whats left of the parts car tho, make making a custom interior that much easier

How's it running now, with the sensors installed?

I feel bad I couldn't meet up with Devan while he was up. I hope he had a good time at the show.

The car has all of the needed sensors. I need to reset the PCM and see if the rear O2 sensor codes go away.

Don't know why there is a transmission malfunction fault code, runs fine on the test drive.

Have a small issue with the coolant reservoir. It has a hairline crack on the side and it squirts out coolant in a fine mist. I have a extra one laying around in the garage to use as a temporary solution. Reason why I say this is because I have had to replace it in my old car twice and this will be the third time. I'm planning to fabricate one out of aluminum. I'm going to cut open the bad one to take a look see on all of the channels that is in it. I know there is one that goes down the left side next to the fill spout.

Your car is looking sharp.....I'm in the process of doing my 2.7 to 3.5 swap...I'm working on finishing off the rebuild process in my 3.5. I have been following your 3.2 to 3.5 swap I think in your 2000......how is that one running? Did you ever put back on your JBA headers?

It's been a while and thought I would update this.



The car is running perfect now. A few months ago I had to swap out the transmission, new brakes, new thermostat, and heater core bypass. I'm chasing a rattle that only happens when it's cool out and is noticeable when im going 45MPH. Then again what do you expect with a car that has almost 200,000 miles on the clock. I gave it a bath the other day and now it hurts my eyes when the sun hits it lol.

As for the answer on the 2000 ES that became the doner/parts car when I bought the 02 SE. It was a cheaper move since I would be spending a grand on wire harnesses and such when I just paid 800 for a newer car that needed a new motor. Not to mention I have a slew of replacement parts from the old car such as a second transmission, body panels, bolts, sensors, and so on.

I gave up on the JBA headers, when you get down to it the wicked bend on the down pipes wouldn't be much better then the stock manifolds. However I do have plans on fabricating a bolt and play set, just have to find someone that is willing to laser cut some flanges.
