ok about a month or so ago i replaced the input and putput speed sensors because my car had been going into limp mode.
for the past few days it has been acting up the same way again...sometimes it takes about 15 seconds to kick into drive...and sometimes it will go directly into second bypassing first...on downshifts periodically it will also go back into second...at stops...i feel the "bump stop"...any ideas on what the problem is? i just replaced those sensors! fluid? any ideas?

I had this problem, then noticed that I had no Transmission fluid. Check that!

just checked my fluid...it is where it says add....is it really bad to drive with low fluid? im gonna get some asap...its sunday tho atf4 mopar right?

You can use +3. You can only get +4 at the dealer. Did you check the fluid when hot? Should be at 180 deg. F. Would take about 10-12 miles drive to get fluid to that temperature. At room temperature the fluid should be around the bottom hole in the dipstick. This with the engine running and the car in park after putting tranny in all gears first. +4 fluid is used in 2000 models and up although Chrysler now says to use it in all trannys except 1999 and down minivans.

well i didnt drive it 12 miles but i drove it until the temp got to where it usually goes...shifted all gears and took it

A sign of your tranny going is a sad one, i replaced all my sensors and it ran better, then it happened...i was feeding the tranny fluid more and more each day..it was the a downward spiral..something about the fluid transducer..(ever notice every transducer goes bad on these things?)..then BOOM no tranny...

Also, make sure your radiator fluid is ok...cause depending on what model..the tranny lines run through the radiator..if if heats up ...then Limp Mode... Understand? When i had my tranny rebuilt, for an extra 100 they put in a cooler with independant cooling lines...

Does not sound good.

I did not see where you said how many miles you have on it.
These trans are know to get leaky seals and gaskets after the mileage gets up there (75K or more).

If you don't feel it is the trans itself, you might ask a trans shop if they will try another TCM.

Mine started to act up and I was told the trans needed a rebuild.
After the rebuild it still acted up. Turns out the TCM had intermitant problem. But in a rebuilt unit for $200 bucks and works great now.... "Of course" he said the trans had wear and was going to have problem soon anyway....

ok well im probably going to get the dealer to look at it my car only has 45,000 ill take a look at that test now...
