About a week ago my "check engine' light came on while driving home... 2004 3.5L.
I did the ignition key dance and pulled a code P0344... Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Intermittent. At this point I did not notice any problem with the car. I purchased a new camshaft position sensor and made plans to replace it Saturday morning.
Later that week the car bucked and was limiting at 2500rpm and had a hard time starting... intermittently, and it was now pulling both a P0340... Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit
I swapped out the sensor and all was fine for a day. Now it is pulling a P0340 code. (GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR).
The connector to the sensor look fine, the sensor was installed with the .030" spacer paper in place. The car did run fine. Now what???????
I have read on the forum that it can be the "crankshaft" sensor??? How does this relate and why am I not pulling crankshaft sensor codes????
Any help from anyone that has been down this road would be greatly appreciated.
