The Food at Carlisle
There are a few options here, Buy on the Showfield, brown bag, pack a lunch or Get in on the 300M Enthusiasts feed. Hopefully MommaM will chime in here soon to give us the details. (I have not seen yet)
The 300M feed has been a good deal in years past as it is made for you and all you have to do is show up when it is ready. Plenty of it as well.
Show Field food is not a good deal money wise, but if you dont eat a lot and or are active and wish to eat when and what you want it can be an good option.
Pack a lunch is difficult unless you have a cooler, as the Show Field can get a little, errr.. lets say Toasty?? Yeah, Toasty... and anything not refridgerated will be cooked in your car.
The last option is then, just dont eat while there (Show Field) and scarf enough at dinner to last a while. (Camel feeding)
We also are looking at the possibility of bringing a BBQ for heating up a few hot dogs etc, but not into that much myself. But we certainly could do that since we have a tent this year.
Comments, questions, critisizms or complaints???
Let it rip right here.

Since it will only be myself that goes, and I have never had food at the show field, I think that is the route I am going to go. Although, I have also thought about having a cooler on hand with some sammiches from Wally World, as there is one that is en route to the show field. They have huge sammiches for not a lot of money.
Also, IIRC, there is a Subway either on the grounds, or very close by. That is also an economical meal to be sure.

Planning on doing showfield food again this year. Wasnt much more than the 300m club's feast. The convenience of not having to return to the tent at certain times was a big plus for me.
There is a large food court with tons of choices by the grand stands and also random food vendors throughout the field.

I did the cooler and Subway sammiches the first year. As long as you have plenty of ice it was good. Plus like Dan says, you can eat as you wish.
