Hello everyone. I've been at this car for 2 weeks trying to figure out a solution. After spending several hours researching this on the web, I have turned to you all for help. I bought a 2002 2.7 intrepid. After replacing cam and crank sensors, I am still getting camshaft sensor p0344 light and yesterday dealership checked everything, sensor, wires, etc. and came to the conclusion that the transmission has likely been replaced and the flex plate is not the right one for this car which is why I have hard starts and the computer thinks the sensor is bad.
Do I replace the computer, cam sprocket or the flexplate? And how do I find out which flexplate to get? Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.
Symptoms are hard starts (takes few tries but the car does start) when I step on the gas while driving, car shakes really bad and feels like its going to fall apart. Cruises fine, just can't press on the gas quickly. Seen many people have this issue but their problem was resolved by replacing the camshaft sensor.
If I don't figure this out soon, I have to sell the car so I can get something I can drive to work. If anyone is interested in buying and know how to fix this problem, let me know.
