300Micheal, how did you get 14 second times in your M?
I mean you have a lot of shit with extra weight in there and it looks to me like you didn't do THAT much performance wise. What helped the most? What do you suggest I do?
Rob

The one time I broke into the 14 second (actually 14.97) I had to do more then my current mods. taking seats our spare running on empty and changing to smaller wheels (15s). I hope to take it for a run this fall (too hot now). But I consider it a low 15 second. It wouldn't do that again with all the added electronics suspension and other parts I have added.

I forgot to turn mine off while racing at the Intl. meet and won the trophy! The first time I took it off was when I raced that Sebring for the inter-club bragging rights, got a bad launch (tires spinning), and lost by less than 2 tenths.
Of course, the point of your joke is still entirely correct... Avenger is hopelessly slow!
Just kidding, Rob, you know we love ya'

grrrrrrrrrrrr, I'm gonna have to try that again after I switch to some smaller wheels with slicks and get some perf mods into this thing. I am going all out performance mods soon (gears, underdrive pulley, dual exhaust, MSD Ignition, tires)! Appearance mods are running out.

All the Mods in the world won`t help some drivers. Good luck Avenger , what kind of gears are you thinking of getting 3.89 or 4.10 `s?

Mine (3.89) are still on order. They should help me get the times lower. For under a $100 not a bad mod. Even cheaper then the dual exhaust system.
Pretty soon I will no longer have a 1999 300M, most will be other parts from other cars or other years.

Don, I was reading your posts on the 300M board. Sorry about the break man, but you made it. Are you ever going to reveal some of these magic mods? Thanks.

His list isn't that horrible. If I remember right, he's got the G-force gears, Kenne Bell Optimizer II, LW/UD pulley, and a JoeKD intake with stock airbox w/K&N drop in filter. There may be some other small items on that list, but those are the big ones. Last I recall, he was playing around with the T-stat. I really want to get farther north sometime...the best time I've managed with my M is a 15.9 in Atlanta, but Don was there on the same day, same conditions and ran a 15.7. Only thing we both unloaded was the spare tire. I'm convinced the ambient humidity down south is keeping me from a mid to low 15. The guys up north or out in AZ like Micheal don't have to fight that problem. For comparason, my car with just the FIPK filter ran a 16.7 before the gear change.

Sadly, they dont make the Gforce gears anymore. :(
So, its either $1500 for prowler pros, or $100 for 2.7 gears. Then again, someone could become buddy buddy with a cnc machinist who has some knowledge and try to reproduce a better gearset.
