Okay I'm getting code P0660 Manifold tune solenoid circuit condition, dual plane intake system-control solenoid failure bank 1, code reads possible problems Shorted or open tuning sonenoid or electrical problem. This is on my 03SXT 3.5HO, do I have a plug failure? or MAP sensor problem? I could not find anything on this code in the search of this site. Please advise on what is going on?
You most likely have an open or short along the path of the wires from the PCM to the MTV. I would look closely at the plug area for a loss of insulation in these wires causing them to ground out or short to each other.
I also found a service recall on the code issued back in 02 18-032-02 they had to reflash the pcm, gonna call the dealer tommorrow and see if its still valid. I also threw a code PO306, car had a slight miss on startup yesterday, threw that code and then its run fine ever since,it was a bit damp outside. Hmm??
I did a google search a that code, and found the Intake problem.
So, are you saying you found the problem and have a fix? Did you fix your car?
EDIT: There are a couple prerequisites for this flash. One being the vehicle build date must be before 10-15-2002.
So, if yours was built after 10-15-2002, the TSB would not apply. There are other DTC's set erroneously that this flash
fixes as well:
Well after reflash today, car has more pick than it did, and does not hesitate at all when I mash on it, bad thing I threw another code,PO138, and did notice the car want to fall down to like 600rpms when in park, that's when the code came on. Says I need to change O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2. I erased it and will wait a day or so, if it comes back I will go spend some big money and replace that O2 sensor.
Well found the problem, when I changed out the camshaft sensor two weeks ago, I missed pluging back in my connection to manifold tuning valve(solenoid on the front of the manifold). Car had been throwing all kinds of codes with that thing unplugged. Car is running fine again. TY for all your input. P.S. I had my car reflashed at the dealer last Friday, you think they would have seen that being unpluged.
