A 01 with 38k was over the seven year limit that I found out on hear. I did get to see the parts and the belt would have made it for much longer as no cracks but starting to get dryed out and hard.

They did replace the tensioner and pivot arm as they said that they have been updated and the belt and fans. With only 38k the wp they said it looked great and did not replace. would have been if more miles.

They also replaced the fan assy, the price was great for me as many other dealers would be higher. The price was under $1400. all mopar parts except the fans. I know but if I was able to do it myself I would.

I can now trust it now... almost..... how come no one ever mentioned the pos things that hold your hood/trunk open are junk. Yes my trunk lid got me many times until my magic pipe. Today at the dealer my hood ones ( never had a problem ) desided to take a dump and had the hood fall down and hit my head. Seems the dealer knows about these but have not read on hear about any issues.

In all I am thankfull to this site and everyone for the help I ask for.

Glad you got the TB done. You can't tell by appearance when a TB is going to let go. The strength is in internal cords which you can't see.

Did you get aftermarket lift struts? If so, most are lifetime guarantee but only last 2 or 3 years - so hang on to your receipts to use to trade them in when they hit you on the head again 3 years from now when the weather turns cold.

Our 01 is still on the original lift struts front and rear. In the dead of winter the trunk ones don't hold up as well as they should, but except for a couple weeks a year they are just as strong as ever. Anyone tried the OEM struts as replacements, or am I the exception to the rule as usual?

Peva, they are original struts, my trunk gave out a while back but my hood has never had a problem until at the dealer, will look around and replace but just got some aspren until done.

I did not know they had a updated tensioner etc.or else they would have reused them. This service advisor is a good guy as dodge wanted over seven hundred for the fans and said thats bull and got me some aftermart ones 150.00. Funny they were 400 a shout time back.

In all I can feel good about driving it, it still runs great with thanks to people like you and others on this fourm, I'd hate to see what would happen if I didnot find this fourm.

Oh - OK. I was thinking you had replaced them. But when you do, keep the receipts like I said.
