They make those cool safety outlets now that have the plastic shields inside the outlet openings. You have to press on all three at the right synchronization for a plug to go in. I would try to find a set of those if possible. I've only ever seen them for household outlets, but I'd imagine they exist in the type that he linked.
I've had plans on doing this for a long time. I even had the inverter in the car waiting to be hooked up for quite a while. I got a thin one and put it inside the wall of the center console, it's just dead space otherwise.
