I have to do an excessive amount of stop and go driving to get it hot.The needle moves right above the half way point when I do. I had the sensor to the fan and the thermostat replaced. The engine sounds brand new even though it has 85000 miles. Also the oil light comes on every once in a while even though I change the oil every 3000 miles and it always looks clean. Last year I had the valve cover gasket replaced so I have no oil leaks.

It this normal?

sounds normal to me,,, but,, get the oil sender unit replaced with one from a dealer to cure the flickering oil pressure light

I have been avoiding high traffic areas of my city since first buying this car.I guess I will continue to do so. My buddy replaced the thermostat yesterday so today I did a traffic stop and go test run. I basically went everywhere. It bothers me to see the needle move to the halfway or above point. . I like my needle to stay a little below the halfway point

Fans was a big problem with my overheating. They just wouldn't stay on long enough, come on and goes off in about 7 seconds. So I put in a custom switch under my steering wheel and ran a wire to the fans. Controlling my fans manually was awesome man.

just a thought, Took me about 30mins to do and 8 bucks.

Does the fan still work automatically?

^ this i may be interested in this mod if it works automatically and just gives the option of fan control... would feel really stupid if i forgot to use fans one day and started overheating

If you install the switch as a piggy back on the original thermal switch then yes the fans would also work automatically.

Is your plan to put the switch on a relay coil. If so, which one? You need to familiarize yourself with the schematic and ask questions if you don't understand how the different speeds work. Also, past '01 MY, the fan wiring is different for 3.2,3.5 than it is for all 2.7 and for earlier year 3.2/3.5. Do you want the fan switch to run the fans on low speed or high speed? You need to understand this stuff to know how to wire the switch in.

Also, check your coolant level. If its low, you will likely see it fluctuate more often between the 3/8 mark and 1/2 mark.
