Trying replace the solenoid pack in my 2002 Intrepid today. I was able to remove everything but the green wiring harness that goes into the valve body. I did remove the shiffter cable and move the shifter clockwise. The red saftey clip came out but the harness wont come off. Any suggestions?

After the safety clip is moved, there should be another latch that you have to press in while pulling outward on the connector (some latches you have to pull out on rather than press in - not sure which type that one is - most you have to press in) - some of them can require some strength to squeeze the latch hard enough and pull the connector apart at the same time.

Also, the red lock must have the original protruding end exactly flush with the plug body channel. IOW, it must be moved until it just makes it flush with the bracket. If you go past that spot, it will make squeezing the secondary latch very difficult, if not, impossible. You can also take the red lock all the way out if you want to. Usually it won't be damaged by doing this. Be sure to re-lock it when you are done.

The red tab or lock is out and it appears that the top of the locking tab is broken. Any ideas where I need to squeeze or pull to remove the plug? Can I put some downward pressure on the valve body to pull it out?

Go to LHForums.net and search for "Replaced my valve body/solenoid pack - some insights". That post has a picture of the TRS connector and where to push to remove it. After the connector is removed make sure that the shift lever is turned fully clockwise (as viewed downward from above) or the valve body won't fully drop down.

I did this a few times because my solenoid pack from the boneyard was bad. I remember this plug being a pita. I pressed the plastic lever then I "broke the seal" on it but jamming a stubby screwdriver and turned it with a pair of channel locks. After that it was easy to remove and install.

Btw, I guess you could pull down on the vb but make sure the shifter is not engaged because it will bend...this happened to me on the donor car. Also, dont forget the overdrive pistons will pop out.

Just a thought, maybe the weight of the vb is stopping you from pressing the lever in..try putting in a screw half way to hold the vb a bit while you try to work on the connector.
