Do you have fold down rear seats? If so, climb in and pull the emergency handle today and then schedule a fix at the shop of your choice.

And if you don't have fold-down seats, remove the seats, then continue as above.

The bottom rear seat cushion is pressed in place with a U-shaped metal rod
that snaps into a rubber cup in the floor. There are only two.
Run your hand under the front of the cushion and you will find one
on the front of each half of the cushion;
Place one hand on either side of it and pull up with a quick jerk.
Sometimes they are stuck pretty good.
By using two hands there is less chance of bending the frame of the cushion.
Then go to the other side of the car and do the same thing.
Once the cushion is out, you can unscrew the two bolts and two nuts that
hold the seat back in place.
Two outer bolts and two inner nuts; use an 18mm socket.
Once those are out, you can pull out silightly on the bottom while pushing the seat back up.
There are three hooks across the back of the shelf that the seat back rests in.
You need to push the seat back up about an inch to clear the hooks.

Ok, so crawl inside the trunk with a flashlight and 10mm socket .
The catch is bolted to the back of the trunk with just two bolts.
The bolts are just behind or sticking through the carpet.
But before you do that, as you're facing the latch, look for a small cable
(maybe five or six inches long) coming out of the left side of the plastic
latch cover. It's an emergency release for the latch.
If the cable is there, you can grab it with pliers and pull, popping the latch.

a lot of common mods are installing Evic, exhaust, autostick and converting from MTC to ATC... but there are many others... just surf through the performance section and you will get some good ideas... as most of us here have done them feel free to ask away...

Glad to hear it all worked out. Now, I see you are one of those "Normal" kids who is grateful about getting a car, any car just for turning 16. I think we must have dropped my kids on their heads since none of 'em want to drive any LH I have offered.
