One Of Those Moments
You ever have one of those moments where something happens and it's so shocking that it is happening, that you either don't react or hesitate to react?
Well, I just had one of those moments. Not only did I hesitate to react, but I half-assed reacted. I was going to make a quick trip up to McDonalds. I turned left out of my apartment and the next car was way down the street. As I'm going the speed limit I notice a Grand Am on my ass just getting over to pass me. This is a two lane road (one lane each direction). What was shocking about this is that we were at a double yellow line approacing a hill. Now this is Jefferson Ave. It's not some quaint side road. All I could do was watch and go "what the fuck" to myself. I started to debate with myself....should I gun it and not let him pass me, or slow down and let him pass me. I started to lean towards the "fuck him" and shifted down to second and accelerated. That was my half-assed reaction. I should have shifted down into first and nailed the gas. He's now about half way past me so I said there is no use in debating with myself anymore and just let him pass. When he got back over I started flashing my high-beams and the passenger just put his arm out the window and did the "come on" gesture. He turned at the light and I just kept on going. I almost followed him.
I guess it's best I did't gun it because there could have been a family loaded van coming up the other side of the hill and the Grand Am would have no room to get over. I guess it's best I didn't follow him either. Besides...I wanted my damn strawberry shake.
Stupid assholes. What the fuck was he/she thinking?

I think Peppa was talking about the Neon frost was in.
Well Warlord, you made the adult decision, even if you only realized it after the fact. That doesn't make up for the fact that you didn't rep the R/T properly. If you let it happen again, we'll have to confiscate your R/T badges
I have to go with you on the shake though

I totally agree. There are some situations where it's just better off to let em pass and be done with it. If it was on a better road I bet he would have kicked his ass

I would have hit my brakes hard to let the psycho get in front of me. Why would you even think about racing the guy? If a car came over the top of that hill say a minivan packed with kids and got hit head on by this ass... I can only imagine what would have happened.
Next time just let him go... jot down the plate number and call it in.

That kind of goes with the "ever have one of those moments where something is happening that just shocks you that you don't react..."

YES!!! As I'm driving down this 4 lane road by my house a guy is waiting to cross the busy road......I'm the last car in the line. What does he do? He steps off of the curb and onto the road before I'm even there. For some strange reason, I begin to drive towards him.........he dives back onto the curb and I can see him swearing and giving me the finger in my rearview.
OOPS ;)

first of all, warlord, ya gettin old man, next time u WILL slow down, this was just a test to see if ya had it in ya, JOKIN, that hill thing is freekin TERRIFYIN, u never know WHO is on the other side.
allso, i DO have those MOMENTS DAILY, but not in that kinda sense, let me explain.
EVERY SINGLE DAY, some were , some how, someone crosses an intersextion or a red light when its MY turn and in all cases, I have the chance to HIT them and get my self a 300m front end, BUT in all cases, i decide not to and slow down.
today was the BEST chance for me,, a block away a cop was taking car of an accedent when i was leaving my street. some lady in a neon runs the red light ACCEDENTALLY(i saw her tryn to see with the sun, she had to put her visor down) and at that time and the speed i was going i coulda bumped here NICLY, but INSTED i slowed down.
man i want that front end lol
ALi

someone tried to do that to me, roll a pass. I was already doing 75, this guy JUST wanted to get ahead of me, riding my ass close enough i couldnt see the VW emblem on the grille...this kept up for a good 4 miles, finally after the 5th time poking his nose over the yellow with oncoming traffic in effect, i slowed down to 55, waved him by and even gave him 4 feet of room (meaning my right 4 feet was on the gravel...'edit')...YEAH NOT THREE SECONDS AFTER ME GETTING UP TO SPEED, HE SLOWS DOWN TO ABOUT 30 MPH A GOOD 100 FT. AWAY FROM THE DAIRY QUEEN, THEN MOSEYS ON INTO THE DRIVEWAY.
MAN i was startin to think "what, this guy in a rush to the hospital because he's got a gunshot victim in the backseat?" NOPE! Probably, during his botched abortion 25 years ago, he got poked in the part of the brain that thinks about things.
