Well we'll see if Nascar does anything to the Golden Boy or continues to show favoritism. Two other drivers were finned $10,000 and docked 25 points for the same thing this year.

Yea right no way, a fine maybe, points no way. Fun race to watch. To bad S. Marlin got taken out he had a good chance to win.

Its going to be a rough situation because now if Jr loses the championship within those 25 points, all hell will break loose. I can already see Gordons car being pelted with Budweisers... They are appealing it from what ive read too.

Appeal all they want. His points are gone and a lesson has been learned. Not a bad thing to happen. Wouldn't it be great if he lost by 24 points in the end?

I see nothing wrong with the punishment. Fits in perfectly for two other similar incidents this year, they all recieved the same fine.

I'm glad to see it with all the "cautions" that fell his way this year. I bet if they hadn't docked two other drivers earlyer he would have got a free pass.

was the word bleeped out on the air? I know for a fact that NASCAR has a 7 second delay... (when i was at dover, the TV footage was 7 seconds behind the actual race)

I thought everything on live tv was supposed to start having delays ever since the whole Janet Jackson fiasco here at the Super Bowl??? If they do have a delay, and opted not to use it, then I think NBC should be held liable, not JR. I can understand him being excited for winning and accidentally letting it blurt out. Also, I can understand fining him the $10,000, but docking points is a little retarded. What happens off of the field should stay off of the field. Football players (or any other sport) involved in off field problems only get fined......not points deducted from final scores. Although, sometimes they get suspended. Either way.......it's all a big mess.

Yes maybe they should give him 25 points back and suspend him for 1/2 a race.
25 points is a fair fine and now everyone will get the message to keep the language clean.
It does seem to be a marketing dream. There are more people talking about NASCAR now than there ever were. This weeks TV ratings should be great.

No, the drivers have been warned by NASCAR regarding that, and he knew.

But there is not a final score in NASCAR. Each "player" gets their own points during the race. Football players don't have individual points.
