Awesome question!
I drove a 1992 Mercury Topaz LS. That thing was a tank. When the rear suspension shot out it was incredibly fun to drive and hit bumps with.

First car was a 1985 Jeep Cherokee 4 door, 2WD, auto, blue vinyl interior, 2.8L V6. Had a lot of fun with it.
Second car was kinda shared with my sister... 1981 AMC Condcorde Limited, only had like 48K miles on it in 2000. Was a real nice car. Too bad I wrecked it.
Third car was a 1983 Mercedes Benz 300D Turbo Diesel. I LOVED this car, is truely bulletproof. 257,000 miles on the original motor, just had the tranny rebuilt this week actually. Car has a lot of character, and I miss it a lot - my mom drives it now. I'm actually wanting to get another Mercedes, so selling the R/T is on my list of things to do.

1983 Olds Ninety Eight Regency Brougham: rolled it, pushed the roof back up, drove it for another year: demolition derby (took 1st)
1982 Olds Ninety Eight Regency: sold it when I bought the next one, repo'd it and stripped it out for a demo derby, traded it for a bed
1984 Olds Ninety Eight Regency Brougham: sitting in the garage, probably gonna sell the motor (455 rocket i put in) and the rest for parts and derby it next spring. As much as I loved it, I cant justify keeping it around anymore.
1999 Olds Alero: actually bought it to replace the trep, but sold it to my brother.

1972 Skylark, killed by a white Honda, looked like a banna split
1972 Monte Carlo, killed it when the tranny burned up.
1976 Olds StarFire, oh what a fun car that was, traded it on
1984 Olds Cutlass, oh I loved that car, traded it on a 86 Taurus
1992 Ford Mustang, oh I loved that car, traded it on a 92 Corsica
OK, so this is where the family came in
1986 Ford Taurus, it was cheep but ran ok
1992 Chevy Corsica, it was actually a decent car
The 86 Taurus became a 93 Taurus
The Corsica became a Jeep Cherokee 4x4
The 93 Taurus became a 96 Taurus
The Cherokee became my wonderful 03 Durango (4.7 SLT 4x4 oh what a blast)
The 96 Taurus just became by 00 Intrepid, and now we are having fun again, got this car with the idea that it would become #1 sons in a few years. Yes I was on a Taurus kick, they were cheep, and would run for ever, but I was over them and #1 son said, uh nope no way am I driving one of those things. I was actually looking at Grand Am's and Prix's when we found the Intrepid.

Before my Current Intrepid, I've owned 10 Mopars, Two GM's and two Fords.
First car starting in 2002:
1989 Chrysler Lebaron 2.5 Turbo convertible. Worked since I was 15 at a crummy supermarket to afford it. Sold in 2005.
1988 Chevrolet Corsica 2.0. Got for free from a relitave in 2003. The car was poorly maintained and the motor threw a rod...junked.
1986 Dodge Aries K 2.2. Bought for 50 bucks in 2003. A true tank! Had over 200K on the original everything. Rusty as hell but ran great. Junked it when the gas tank rusted off.
1986 Dodge Aries K 2.5. Bought for 200 bucks for a friend, but he didn't want it so I drove it for a while. Pretty good, had to change the head gasket. Sold.
1987 Plymouth Reliant K 2.5 Saved from the junkyard. The guy was just dumping it off at the junkyard when I offered him $150, $50 more than what the junkyard was going to give him. I drove it home with no brakes and bad front struts. I fixed the brakes, they worked for a week and they went out again. So I parted it out.
1990 Plymouth Acclaim 2.5. Bought in 2004. I loved this car. I regret selling it every day. I did a ton of mods to it, and a lot of repairs. My mechanical knowlege grew by working on that car. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Sold 2006
1990 Ford Taurus GL 3.0. I traded a riding mower for it. It needed some work. The power steering leaked, the rear struts were shot, the tires were dryrotted. I put some work in to it and it ran great. Sold in 2004
1986 Blowsmobile Cutlass Supreme coupe 307. Free. I beat the crap out of this car. I reinacted many 'General Lee' dukes of hazzard stunts in it. The first transmission explodedm, put a junkyard one in it, continued to beat the crap out of the car until the trans got stuck in 1st, drove it at 50 MPH until the motor overheated soo much that it cracked the block between two freeze plugs and the motor seized. Junked
1992 Ford Escort LX. Free with a dead starter. Replaced the starter, but I realized what an econobox POS it was, sold it in 2005.
1994 Dodge Intrepid base. Bought in 2005 from a coworker. Loved it. The most reliable car I've ever owned. Only repair I had to make to it was a leaky water pump gasket. Regret selling, but I had to when I moved. Sold in 2005.
1990 Chevy Lumina Euro 3.1 Free car! My friend gave it to me because he couldn't afford to insure it and he was about to get a nasty fine from the state. I fixed it up and sold it.
1996 Nissan Altima 2.4 One word can sum it up...LEMON
I bought the current Intrepid in 2006, and then I later on bought a 1994 Sable too. I prefer Mopar. I can work with fords but GM's I'm lost.
I also had the following parts cars:
1989 Chrysler Lebaron Coupe
1991 Plymouth Acclaim
1996 Dodge Intrepid

- January 1984 - October 1986: A 1975 Pontiac Gran Prix (yes, "Gran". They didn't have the d on the end at the time). It is, perhaps, my favorite car of all. For one thing, it was my first when I got it back in January 1984. It was silver with a charcoal colored hood and trunk and the rear half of the roof was that vinyl covering. The interior was black with crushed velour POWER bucket seats, cruise control, an AM/FM/8-Track/23 Channel CB combination AC Delco radio. 400 cu. in. engine with a 4-barrel carb that got a whopping 10-11 MPG, 350 tubro-hydromatic tranny. A trunk that I swear in my memory seems even bigger than the one on my current 99 LHS.
- January 1987 (I was in USMC boot camp for the missing months) - can't remember 1990: A Mazda B2000 pickup.
- 1990 - 1993: 1986 Ford Tempo GL
- 1993 - 1999: 1990 Ford Ranger
- 1999 - April 2006: 1999 Ford Escort ZX/2 "Cool"
- April 2006 - Current: My baby, my 1999 Chrysler LHS.
I would like to point out for the record that I never totaled any of my cars. The Gran Prix was still running last I heard in the mid 1990s. The B2000 died at 140K+ miles. The two Fords crapped out in the low 120Ks each. The ZX/2 is going strong and great as ever. Sold it to a friend who babies it quite nicely. The only car I ever totalled was my brothers 1971 (or 73?) Camaro Z28.
