Not in my book. I personally have never raced one. However I have seen some poeple try to race some against some crappy cars and lose.

if its a newer model GT or z24 whatever they are called, but the 2.4L model

He will beat u.

0-60mph in 7.3sec for the vibe gt, they are similar in setup.

Basically if you actually wanna try this, dont race for slips tho LOL... you need to put it in autostick and forget all of that bs about taking care of ur tranny, cuz ur going for a 0-60 time record.

Which means the car is basically gonna be pushed to redline.
So AS1 and floor it off the line, it will go to 6500rpm and then shift into second when u should be near 100 km very quickly in. Top end of 2nd is around prob 100+ when the revs are that high. I know at 180kph its a nice 3-4k cruise LOL.

As a tip, its all about weight. Ie. my atv has around 30 or something horses. Maybe less, but it only weighs 400lbs + me 155 lbs = 550lbs.

Thus just as a simple p/W ratio which is a ricer thing to do but anyways, it gives u a good idea.
30/400lbs = 0.075 hp/lbs

intrepid 3650lbs
hp 244 or less on the rt, i dont remember
3650lbs/244 hp = 0.067 hp/lbs

So that sounds nice and dandy, but the difference is almost half in 0-60 times.
Atv does 0-60 mph in 4.0 - 4.3 seconds, max speed is only 144 kph tho through a 6 speed manual.

So if he has even a small 160 hp engine to a 2200lb chassis
2200/160 = 0.072 hp/lbs

Its very rough and many things matter in the calculation. Id say you will come close.

I raced and beat a contour svt by about to my drivers door because i reached the speed limit (like 90 LOL) but off the line is what really matters anyways, he did a stupid ricer fly by which is just retarded once the other car is ahead LOL.
His time is supposed to be a good 0.5 or more faster but he can just be a shitty stick driver
1999 Ford Contour SVT 6.8 15.2

He drives his parents 97 sunfire GT(fake GT) It doesn't have the 2.4 or exhaust or whatever the GT has... seems like he sort of fell in love with it the way I did when I used to drive my dad's 2000SE. The problem is he keeps calling my R/T an old people's car but I don't see what he tries to cover it with ? a car that doesn't have anything better than mine ?

LOL....well it is an old ppl car.

even the new srt8s are LOL>... even the vettes are old ppl cars.

I guess the only young kid car is prob civics and super economy and in the sport car sector things like the 350z, s2000, but then again u see old ppl driving those too so its hard to say.

Long cars usually say a lot, old ppl refer them, not sure why but its some 80s thing.

Punch him in the face and tell him to get the friggen car and race you. Then follow the following instructions:

A.) If he gets the car, race him. If he wins, punch him in the face then shake his hand and say "my car still looks better than your pontiac POS". If you win, punch him in the face again for being such a tard, and say "my car also looks better than your pontiac POS". Like LG said toss her into autostick and let her fly.

B.) If he doesn't get the car punch him in the face and tell him to get the car.

lol

The only pontiacs I like are the newer GTO's.. and don't even get me started on the G8.. I would die for that car.

With light weight, and a manual transmission, a Sunfire GT / Cavalier Z24 might keep even with a 3.5 Intrepid up to a certain point. However, our cars will be ultimately faster in the top end.

At lower speeds, it's the power to weight ratio that dominates. At higher speeds, it's a combination of power to weight AND power to drag ratio. Past 100 kph, then 2.4 will be struggling to keep up. Pask 150 kph, I doubt the Sunfire has any chance against an R/T.

Old man car? With proper tires I've smoked a Z24 in the winding mountain roads. But that was with my old RSA tires and FF compound police brake pads.

Linuxglobal, that G8 is truely an amazing car, heads and shoulders beyond most other GM products. The GXP model claims 50/50 weight distribution, full adjustable camber/caster/toe, Brembo 14" brakes, Vette LS3, and the 6 spd Viper/Vette manual transmission. I doubt anything from the Mopar barn can keep up, short of the Viper of course.

2003 Police Package
2006 C6 Z06 (traitor)
2014 Ram HEMI 8 spd
